Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) refers to any harmful act committed against a person or group based on gender norms and unequal power relations, without their consent. It can be physical, emotional, psychological, or sexual, and may include threats, coercion, or denial of resources and services. SGBV affects women, girls, men, and boys. While both males and females can experience SGBV, women and girls are disproportionately affected, especially in private spaces such as the home, whereas men are more likely to face violence outside the home.
