A relationship can be described as the way in which two or more people interact with each other. There are different types of relationships based on purpose and seasons, and oftentimes one person can be in different types of relationships at the same time. Some of the basic types of relationships include – family, work, friendships, acquaintances, casual, romantic relationships etc. 😍
It is important to note that a relationship can move from one level to another e.g. an acquaintance can become a close friend and then an intimate friend or lover that you will consider for marriage in future. It is therefore important that you relate with everyone with respect and dignity. A relationship can be positive (healthy) or negative (toxic). 🔐
A healthy relationship is characterised by trust, respect, 👩 communication, mutual affection and commitment towards the relationship while a toxic relationship is a type of relationship where your emotional, physical or mental well-being is being threatened and it is usually characterised by lack of support, jealousy, poor and dishonest communication, disrespect, blame games, competition, stress etc. causing people in such relationships to be ashamed, humiliated, abused. Adolescents and Young People should strive to stay in a healthy relationship always.
